Fun stuff

On Tuesday, September 6, from 6-8pm, Road Runner Sports in Green Lake (map: https://goo.gl/maps/GHm4Qui6Dzq5yoGPA ) will host a fundraiser & shoe-fit night for our program. Athletes will have the opportunity to be fit for new running shoes and receive a 10% discount on purchases (and 10% of all sales will come back to the cross country program).

Pizza will also be provided at this event, and the coaching staff will put on another parent meeting to chat with you all or answer any questions in case you missed this week's meeting.

On Wednesday, September 7 (the first day of school), from 6-8pm, Oiselle will host a spike night at their flagship store in University Village (map: https://g.page/oiselleuniversityvillage?share ). Athletes (and parents!) will receive 20% off their purchases—this is a great time for athletes who need bras or black shorts for racing!

Basics of the season & team

  • The fall season begins this Monday, August 22nd; the first day of school is Wednesday, September 7; the last day to join the team is Friday, September 9
  • Athletes must be signed up and have completed paperwork in FinalForms in order to join the team & attend practice ( https://roosevelths.seattleschools.org/student-life/athletics/athletic-registration/ )
  • Practice is Monday-Friday, 4:15-6:15p
We’ll meet at Cowen Park (on the Brooklyn Ave NE side)
  • Our team’s attendance requirement is 5 days a week (with exceptions for illness & unexpected appointments, of course)
  • Athletes must email Coach Sara & Coach Morgan when they know they are going to miss a practice.
  • We aim to assign lockers in the girls’ and boys’ locker rooms once the school year begins.
  • We have made calendar overview of our season including competition dates & locations, invitationals, spike nights and days off: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JZNQaegltQERTfl_y50oD9IIsqUc2woy/view?usp=sharing
  • The current version of the team syllabus includes what athletes & parents can expect from us, what we (as a coaching staff) expect of our athletes, and some details on lettering, varsity, and captains
