District Championships!

 We are excited to participate in the XC post season by representing Roosevelt at the Sea-King District 2 Championships on Saturday. Our team is scheduled to compete at 11:45 at Lake Sammamish State Park. We would love if as many people can come and support our athletes! At this time we understand that there will be a requirement to purchase a Discovery Pass to park at the meet https://store.discoverpass.wa.gov/ . The race features teams from the Metro league and the Kingco league for a total of 22 teams. The top 6 teams and any non team advancing individuals in the top 42 overall will move on to the state championship. Course map can be found here:  Lake Sammamish XC Districts Course Map

Metro Championships is upon us

XC Metro League Championship! Some reminders: Thursday, 10/21/2021 - Athletes get released from school at noon. The expectation is that the team is there at Magnuson after release and  at least an hour before races.  The women's JV race starts at 1:00 and the men's JV Frosh/Soph starts at 1:40 Athletes need to have their attendance waiver to compete Full schedule is below There might be a few team line up changes and shuffling due to some recent injuries.  Refer to a coach if a position is in doubt.  Below is the line up as of now.

2021 Twilight Meet Results!

What an epic night!  Very proud of this team. Our varsity finished 4th overall which was the best finish that our Roosevelt XC men have ever accomplished in history at Twilight. Overall the whole team ran so well!

• Serious Open Team: Team finished 5th of 18 teams, 14 point AHEAD of the 6th place team
• JV Freshman/Soph: Team finished 12th of 46 teams, 15 points BEHIND the 11th place team
• JV Junior/Senior: Team finished 3rd of 31 teams, 1 point AHEAD of the 4th place team
• Varsity: Team finished 4th of 32 teams, 1 point AHEAD of the 5th place team

Metro League Meet - Eastside/Ingraham/Roosevelt at Magnuson - Thursday 9/23

We will have early release at 2:45 (not 3:00 as previously communicated to the athletes). The boys race will start at 4:20 (a bit later than usual) and there will not be a separate Varsity/JV race. All boys will race at 4:20. The start and finish will be slightly modified from last week to accommodate kid soccer field usage but will be in the general location as before.

Week of 9/13 to 9/18 - First XC Competitions

Here is the schedule for the week:

9/13:  Cowan Park. 3:50-5:45

9/14:  Picture Day. 4:00pm at the Roosevelt Track. Light practice afterward. 

9/15:  Meet at Magnuson Park. Teams contesting:  Roosevelt, Ingraham, Garfield, Hale, Ballard, Eastside, West Seattle. Meet starts at 4:10 for the boys. You are expected to be there by 3:15pm for group warmup. Athletes will need to bring their signed (by each class teacher) game day attendance form in order to compete.  

9/16:  Cowan Park. 3:50-5:45

9/17:  Cowan Park. 3:50-5:45

9/18:  South Whidbey Invite. South Whidbey High School. Bus leaves at 7:30 from 68th street and 12th . We will board the ferry in Mukilteo. Return time around 5:00pm to Roosevelt.

Last organized Saturday workout - Labor Day weekend

Hi All, 

This Saturday (9/4/2021) we will be meeting at the lower woodland park track from 9:00AM-11:00AM. Monday (9/6/2021) at 9:00AM, there will be a (optional) practice that is led by the captains at Magnuson Park. Please park/drop off at the big parking lot by the tennis center.  The team will gather in the outfield of the baseball Diamond and cricket field for a run through of the course.
